TWMCC Holds 'Muslim Communities in the Caribbean' Online Lecture

The World Muslim Communities Council organised an online lecture entitled 'Muslim Communities in the Caribbean', presented by Mr. Suleiman Mohamed Bolbolia, President of the Barbados Muslims Organization in the Caribbean, as part of TWMCC’s lecture series.
The President of the Barbados Muslims Organization in the Caribbean explained the way Muslims came to the Caribbean region, stressing that they came from the continent of Asia with many forms of Islamic culture.
He also stressed that the Muslim community in the Caribbean region builds bridges of communication with society promotes effective peaceful coexistence between religions, and also contributes effectively to building and developing the country.
Bulbulia explained that the Muslim community in the Caribbean is open to all cultures and is characterized by being positive and successful
He clarified that the Muslim community in the Caribbean is open to all cultures characterised by positive. The government appreciates these efforts, as it practices its religious rituals freely has good relations with all religions, and has obligations and rights. He stressed that Caribbean Muslims always seek constructive dialogue with society and are characterised by solidarity with all parts of society because they are an essential part of it.
Suleiman Bolbolia reviewed the experience of the Muslim community in Barbados, which includes 5 mosques the first mosque was built in 1951, while the country consists of 4 prayer rooms and one hundred chapels of the Holy Quran.
Regarding Muslims obtaining their rights, Suleiman Bolbolia stressed that Islamic holidays such as Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha have become national holidays in the Caribbean region, explaining that Caribbean governments recognise Islamic holidays as national holidays even though the majority of the region’s population are not Muslims.
TWMCC is an international non-governmental organisation that functions as a think tank. It supports Muslim community organisations and associations by helping them improve their operations, collaborate effectively, and adopt innovative approaches.
