TWMCC Holds 'British Muslim Identities in Media Narratives - Perspectives and Experiences' Lecture

The World Muslim Communities Council held a virtual lecture, titled 'British Muslim Identities in Media Narratives - Perspectives and Experiences', presented by Saba Zaman Award-winning Radio & Podcasts Producer - UK and Sanjana Deen Researcher, SOAS - University of London, UK.
Saba Zaman Award-winning Radio & Podcasts Producer - UK, and Sanjana Deen Researcher, SOAS - University of London, UK said: "London is an open and diverse city of cultures and religions and in the UK we have freedom of belief, freedom to wear the hijab and a responsibility to contribute to building society".
They added "Muslims in UK face the same challenges as non-Muslims and if you want to change something for the better, you must make an effort to be part of the change system".
They explained that "focusing on education is crucial for any society that wants to progress and develop, and Muslim girls in Britain face many challenges and with their determination and work they can overcome them all".
They stressed that "every member of society, whether male or female, must work to preserve various resources and take care of the environment around us".
They added "in the United Kingdom, the holy month of Ramadan is very important for us because of the cohesion it entails among members of society and fashion for Muslim girls exists in the United Kingdom, where there is an Islamic market and many of the latest fashion trends are produced".
TWMMC is an international non-governmental organisation, and a think tank to help organisations and associations working in Muslim communities, renew their thinking, improve their performance, and coordinate their joint work.
