TWMCC Secretary-General: Bahrain Forum for Dialogue is an Opportunity to Bridge Gap between East & West in Light of Document on Human Fraternity

HE Dr. Mohamed Bechari, Secretary-General of The World Muslim Communities Council, has praised the Bahraini model of co-existence on the basis of national harmony and belonging to the homeland, which makes it a supportive force for political stability, social security and peace, enabling the Kingdom of Bahrain to guarantee its citizens and residents the freedom of belief, and the practice of devotional rituals of different religious and sectarian affiliations.


He added that holding the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East-West Dialogue for Human Coexistence, between religious leaders comes in a very important temporal and spatial circumstances


In a time of human delinquency, violence and wars, as well as the spread of phenomena of hatred and Islamophobia, and in a region that seeks to flare the fire of sectarianism, through calling for chaos and spreading terror among the people, by covering the activities of extremist religious groups.

 

Bechari also stressed that Bahrain Forum for Dialogue is a continuation of the efforts undertaken by Islamic religious leaders, led by His Eminence Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of Muslim Council of Elders, Dr Ahmed El Tayyeb, and Christian religious leaders, headed by His Holiness Pope Francis of Catholic Church, including the consolidation of the values stipulated in the document on ‘Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together’ signed in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan 


Kingdom of Bahrain is preparing to hold Bahrain Forum for Dialogue on Thursday and Friday, 3 & 4 November, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, and with the participation and presence of His Eminence Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of Muslim Council of Elders, Dr Ahmed El Tayyeb, and nearly 200 representatives of religions around the world, as well as prominent intellectual and media personalities
