 Among the daily Ramadan episodes, The World Muslim Communities Council organized, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, a virtual episode entitled “Filial Piety and Self-Righteousness in Ramadan,” during which Prof. Dr. Fawzia Al-Ashmawi, President of the European Muslim Women Forum, Switzerland, spoke via the Council's social media pages. 

 Prof. Fawzia Al-Ashmawy said that self-righteousness should proceed spending money, and the first type includes righteousness, doing good, kind words, a cheerful face, patience with others, forgiveness when able, controlling anger, avoiding quarrels, and spreading the values ​​of tolerance and love, especially during  Ramadan.

 The head of the European Muslim Women Forum in Switzerland added that Allah has imposed upon us filial piety and kindness to our parents, especially if one or both of them have reached old age, noting that if neither parent is able to live alone, his son or daughter must bring him to live with him and help him.

 Al-Ashmawi explained that the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, felt the importance of mother and father the most, because he grew up without them, so when "a man came to the Messenger of Allah and said: "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most entitled among people to my good companionship?" He said: "Your mother." The man said: "Who next?" He said: "Your mother." The man asked again: "Who next?" He replied: "Your mother." The man further said: "Who next?" He said: "Your father". She is stressing the need to honor parents and relatives and visit them throughout the year, especially during Ramadan. 

 The President of the European Muslim Women Forum in Switzerland emphasized that righteousness is not only honoring one’s parents, but a person must also be righteous towards his wife, daughter and sister, and to spend on them during his life, not wait until his death because money is Allah’s money, gave it to us to see how we spend it, as the Holy Prophet said, “The best of you is the one who is best to his family"
