Peter Sanders: Grandson of Prophet Build Mosque in China

  As part of the daily Ramadan episodes, The World Muslim Communities organized, on Sunday, April 24, 2022, a virtual episode in the "Achievers and Contributors" series, during which Peter Sanders, an Islamic Photographer from the United Kingdom, spoke via the Council's social media pages. 


  Peter Sanders said that he has a great passion for knowledge and photography, and that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Seek knowledge even in China.” So I went several times to China for research and knowledge, and currently working on writing a book about the journey.


  Sanders added that while he was in China, he found a cemetery with the name of the companion Saad bin Abi Waqqas written in Arabic, and discovered that th Companion had founded one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in China.


  The Islamic photographer explained that one of the grandsons of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had established a mosque in China, noting that the Prophet had sent three companions to eastern China, and one of them had died and was buried there.


  Sanders stressed that in the capital, Beijing, there are a number of historical mosques, one of which is 1,000 years old, and the last is 500 years old, and all of them include walls engraved with Quranic verses in Arabic and Chinese, noting that the Chinese are interested in education and art.


  The World Muslim Communities Council is an international non-governmental organization, headquartered in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. It is considered a think tank to rationalize organizations and societies working in Muslim societies, renew their thinking and improve their performance in order to achieve one goal; The integration of Muslim societies in their countries, in a way that their members realize the perfection of citizenship and complete affiliation with the Islamic religion. The council seeks, through holding dozens of virtual conferences, seminars and activities, to localize the concepts of religious, ethnic and cultural pluralism, in a manner that preserves human dignity and respect for his beliefs, and establishes the values ​​of moderation, dialogue, tolerance and belonging to the homelands.
