Addiha Apewe: I Grew Up in Christian Family, My Muslim Husband Helped me Convert to Islam

 As part of the daily Ramadan episodes, The World Muslim Communities Council organized, on Thursday, April 21, 2022, a virtual episode in the "Achievers and Contributors" series, during which Addiha Ikima Apewe, Teacher, Newlegon Adma Primary School, Ghana, spoke via the Council's social media pages. 


 Addiha Apewe said that she grew up in a Christian family, and after her studies, she met a Muslim man who proposed to her from her uncle and aunt.


 Apewe added that her family rejected this person at first, but he insisted, and she agreed because of his morals, noting that after the marriage a problem arose as she is a Christian woman and she was surprised by the rituals of the Islamic religion. 


 The teacher at Newlegon Adma Primary School in Ghana explained that after her conversion to Islam it was difficult at first due to fasting and her lack of knowledge of the Qur'an, but her husband and friends helped her.


 Apewe indicated that she is now living a happy life, has become a mother of five children, is proud of Islam, and has not regretted her conversion to Islam, explaining that she works as a teacher in a school, and helps in teaching students the Holy Quran and understanding its meanings.


  The World Muslim Communities Council is an international non-governmental organization, headquartered in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. It is considered a think tank to rationalize organizations and societies working in Muslim societies, renew their thinking and improve their performance in order to achieve one goal; The integration of Muslim societies in their countries, in a way that their members realize the perfection of citizenship and complete affiliation with the Islamic religion. The council seeks, through holding dozens of virtual conferences, seminars and activities, to localize the concepts of religious, ethnic and cultural pluralism, in a manner that preserves human dignity and respect for his beliefs, and establishes the values ​​of moderation, dialogue, tolerance and belonging to the homelands.
