Dr. Abdul al-Malik Hibawi: Prayer is Core of Islam and Inheritance of Prophethood

Dr. Hibawi said that prayer is the soul of Islam, and all acts of worship such as fasting, zakat, anf charity depend on the acceptance of prayer. If the prayer is correct, the rest of the work is correct. He added, "Humbling is the core of prayer. It has two types, by body and by heart." He said that the Muslim who rushes to perform the prayer is like a thief, as the Messenger (PBUH) said that the worst of people is those kinds of theft. Dr. Hibawi listed some of the virtues of prayer, as it is one of the five pillars of Islam, with the four are subject to Allah's acceptance of our prayer. He pointed out that the Messenger and his Companions used to perform the prayers in humble, as we know that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq was like a wedge in his prayer without moving. So due to the importance and greatness of the obligatory prayer, the Devil is very keen to spoil it with many tricks. Dr. Abdel al-Malik said that in order to triumph over Satan, we must invoke the greatness of Allah, and feel close to Him, and evoke that this prayer is onr of farewell, as if it is the last prayer. He added that pushing away the incoming concerns and stray thoughts during prayer requires getting rid of everything that is in front of the qiblah, and invoking the greatness and power of Allah.
