Shaikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah: Combating epidemics is the same kind of combating everything that hurts human being

His Excellency Shaikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah, President of Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies and Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Fatwa Council says: “We are at a time where the emerging epidemic of Corona is widespread in the world and the world is mobilizing its efforts to address it. I see this as an occasion to confirm the sound Islamic perception of such matters.”
Bin Bayyah added: Our belief that these epidemics are destined from Allah and do not contradict the quest to address them and search for worldly measures from the outcome of the minds and experiences of humanity; emphasizing that combating epidemics is the same kind of combating everything that hurts human being.
His Excellency Shaikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah explained that leaving work is an insult to the modesty of God as the people of the recommendation say and it is contrary to the universal and legislative Sunnah; he cited the words of the Prophet (PBUH) in the authentic hadith, “Heal, O servants of Allah.”
He pointed out that every effort to prevent and treat is required and desirable; these are measures that the scientific experiment has shown to be useful and It is recommended by legal texts, furthermore, it requires the purposes and rules of Sharia.
