TWMCC Congratulates His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on His Election as Bishop of Rome

The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) extended its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on the occasion of his election as Bishop of Rome and successor to Saint Peter.


In a statement issued by HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of TWMCC, TWMCC affirmed that this distinguished appointment, announced by the College of Cardinals, reflects profound trust in His Holiness and entrusts him with a high spiritual and moral responsibility at a historic moment marked by complex global challenges—when the world is in great need of religious leadership that inspires hope and strengthens the values of peace and coexistence


HE Dr. Al Nuaimi expressed his deep appreciation for the noble humanitarian role played by the Holy See in fostering a culture of compassion, upholding the principles of human fraternity, and building bridges of dialogue and understanding among followers of different religions, cultures, and civilizations. He stressed that genuine dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration among religious institutions are essential pathways to confronting extremism and building more just and stable societies.


TWMCC also expressed its aspiration to enhance cooperation with the Holy See through initiatives and joint projects that serve global peace, and promote the values of justice, inclusive citizenship, and positive coexistence—core principles shared by all faiths in their call for goodness, rejection of hatred, and service to humanity.


HE concluded the statement by praying to Allah Almighty to grant His Holiness Pope Leo XIV success in his noble mission, and that his papacy be one of peace, compassion, and justice, contributing to the well-being of all humanity.
