The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) held a Ramadan online lecture titled "Interfaith Dialogue in Europe," presented by Imam Yahya Pallavicini, Vice President, COREIS Islamic Religious Community—Italy, as part of the Council's series of lectures.

During his talk, Imam Pallavicini highlighted the UAE's role as a global model for human fraternity, particularly following its pivotal role in hosting the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity between the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and the Pope of the Catholic Church.

He also explored the spiritual significance of fasting across different religions, noting that while the practice varies in form, it remains a unifying act of devotion, self-discipline, and spiritual connection to God.

The Imam emphasised that fasting during Ramadan is more than just refraining from food and drink; it serves as a means of self-refinement, detaching from negativity, and prioritising values in line with divine wisdom. He also highlighted the importance of mindful speech and the deeper spiritual bond between an individual and their Creator, as reflected in Islamic teachings.

He concluded by stating: "Fasting is not just a religious obligation but a transformative experience that aligns life with divine wisdom and unveils spiritual insights."
