TWMCC Holds "The Role of Muslims in the United Kingdom" Online Lecture
- 2024-Aug-14
The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) held an online lecture, titled "The Role of Muslims in the United Kingdom", presented by Shaykh Muhammad Ramadhan, Member of Majlis Al-Shura of Markazi Jamat E Ahle Sunnat UK and Overseas, within the Council's series of lectures.
During the lecture, Shaykh Muhammad Ramadhan emphasised the goals of Islamic Sharia, urging Muslims to embrace tolerance, accept others, and recognise the positive qualities shared among people.
He highlighted that Islam does not differentiate between individuals based on colour, gender, or race; everyone is equal in the eyes of Islam. As an example, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) selected Bilal ibn Rabah, an Abyssinian companion, to stand on the Kaaba after the conquest of Mecca.
Furthermore, he stressed the need to respect human differences, asserting that diversity is a natural part of God's creation and essential to understanding that differences are inherent to societies.
He also pointed out the importance of coexistence, stating that people should focus on the common ground that unites them, both among Muslims and with others.
In addition, Shaykh Muhammad Ramadhan urged Muslims to prioritise unity, navigate differences, and stay connected with their communities.
He concluded by explaining that the objectives of Sharia promote diversity and coexistence within society, emphasising the significance of tolerance, acceptance of differences, and appreciation of various cultures within the community.
TWMCC is an international non-governmental organisation that functions as a think tank. It supports Muslim community organisations and associations by helping them improve their operations, collaborate effectively, and adopt innovative approaches.
