League of Islamic Universities renews confidence in Sheikh Al-Essa as President

With the endorsement of the presence of the leaders of the member universities, the General Conference of Islamic Universities League, in its twelfth session, unanimously renewed its confidence in Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al Issa, as President of the Islamic Universities League. The conference also congratulated the issuance of the league’s statute.


The conferees adopted the issuance of an educational guide for Islamic curricula for all academic levels, the issuance of another guide for intellectual fortification, and an encyclopaedia of Islamic values.


Dr Al Issa, announced in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, the launch of the work of the 12th general conference of the Islamic Universities League, in the presence of Their Eminences, and Excellencies of the responsible leaders in a number of member universities.


He delivered the keynote speech in which he welcomed the attendees in the birthplace of revelation and the cradle of the final message of Makkah, noting the topics and issues on the agenda of the conference, which are among the tasks entrusted to the League.


Dr Al Issa also explained that the Islamic Universities League is the most important and strongest academic link in Islamic countries, pointing out that the Islamic Universities League assumes qualitative global responsibilities, stressing that its new system allows it to expand its tasks and activities around the world, and valuing the desire of major universities to join the membership of the League, as well as the desire of other universities to become “Supporting Members.”


It was announced that the scientific committee’s members directed the issuance of an educational guide for Islamic curricula for all academic levels, a guide for intellectual immunization, and an encyclopaedia of Islamic values.


Prominent speakers from the League’s leadership delivered their speeches during the gathering, and then the General Conference was briefed on the decisions of the President of the Islamic Universities League, which stipulate the appointments in the League leadership positions, as the following:


Prof Dr Sami Mohamed Rabea Al Sharif as Secretary General of the Islamic Universities League

His Eminence Dr Muhammad Al Hamaili Bashari as Vice President for Education Development

His Eminence Professor Dr Salama Jumaa Daoud as Vice President for Scientific Research

Prof Dr Nabil Muhammad Tawfiq Al Samalouti as Assistant Secretary General for Academic Affairs

Prof Dr Nourhan El Sayed El Sheikh as Assistant Secretary General for External Relations
