TWMCC Participates in ‘Russia - Islamic World: Practical Steps in Media Cooperation’ International Conference in Moscow

The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) has participated in the international conference ‘Russia - Islamic World: Practical Steps in Media Cooperation’, which is being held in the Russian capital, Moscow.


A number of religious and media leaders will participate in the conference, to discuss the role of media institutions in enhancing cooperation and exchanging views and ideas between Russia and the Islamic world.


HE Dr Mohamed Bechari, Secretary-General of TWMCC is representing the Council in the conference, along with Hassan Al Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary-General of TWMCC


The Group of Strategic Vision ‘Russia - Islamic World’ was established in 2006, after the Russian Federation’s joining to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation as an observer state.

 

The Group had also held its sessions in Moscow, Kazan, Istanbul, Jeddah and Kuwait. They received a greeting message from Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in every meeting 

 

The Group includes 33 government and public figures from 27 Islamic countries, including former prime ministers, former foreign ministers, and many senior clerics in the Islamic East, from Indonesia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and other countries
