HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the World Muslim Communities Council, said on Wednesday that the UAE is a model of diversity and pluralism during his speech at the 6th Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which was held in Kazakhstan.

Dr Al Nuaimi, who heads the UAE delegation to the conference, stressed the importance of turning dialogue into youth programs, otherwise dialogue will have no meaning.

He pointed out that the exclusion of others opens the door to crises and conflict, stressing to take responsibility of the common human values and deploy them in addressing the clash of civilizations.

The head of the World Muslim Communities Council stressed that the responsibility of religions is to bring young people out of frustration and despair to the arena of creativity and coexistence.

He explained: "We want to get our children out of the conflicts and open the prospects for coexistence so that they can enjoy security and peace."

"We are more than aware of the price that humanity pays as a result of conflict and we have launched the National Program for Tolerance in the UAE, which encompasses everything in our society," concluded Dr. Al Nuaimi.

Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, has witnessed on Wednesday the launch of the sixth Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which discusses strengthening the role of religious leaders in the maintenance of international security by combating extremism and terrorism and renouncing hatred and violence.

Organizers said the congress has been participated by many politicians and prominent leaders of the three monotheistic faiths "Islam, Christianity and Judaism" from Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as from traditional religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism.

The two-day conference, "Global Leaders for a Secure World," examines the role of religious and political leaders in overcoming extremism, terrorism, religions, globalization, challenges and confrontations.
