Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) is participating in the second edition of the International Conference on "Building Bridges Between Schools of Thought and Sects", organised by the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah. The event brings together senior muftis and scholars from across the Islamic world, representing various sects and schools of thought, from over 90 countries. The TWMCC delegation is led by HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of The World Muslim Communities Council.

The MWL stated that this edition of the conference, titled "Towards an Effective Islamic Convergence," represents a significant step in strengthening Islamic unity. It aims to move beyond traditional dialogues and repetitive discussions towards the implementation of practical programmes outlined in the "Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects" document. The conference seeks to coordinate efforts in addressing shared challenges and threats while establishing a structured framework for initiatives that promote moderation and counter sectarian rhetoric and practices.

The MWL also highlighted that the first edition of the "Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects" Conference and its foundational document embodied the wisdom and inclusiveness of Islam. It laid the groundwork for coordinated efforts among Islamic moderates across sects and denominations to serve the Muslim Ummah and confront extremism and radical ideologies that have distorted the image of Islam.

In this edition, Islamic scholars continue their work in unity, building on a firm foundation that seeks to foster cooperation, solidarity, and reconciliation. With their meeting taking place in Makkah, the spiritual heart of the Islamic world, they stand hand in hand, striving for a brighter future based on brotherhood, mutual respect, and the noble ethics of Islam.
