The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) is participating in the Manila International Book Fair, which will be held from 11 to 15 September 2024 at the SMX Convention Centre in Pasay City.

During the event, TWMCC's stand will feature various English-language publications to enrich readers' perspectives, that aligns with the Council's continuous effort to foster shared human values and promote the principles of moderation, tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence with diverse religions and cultures.

Among The Council's featured books at the fair are: 'Southeast Asian Islam Architecture, Arts and New Cultures', 'Southeast Asian Islam: Indigenized Theology and Jurisprudence', and 'Bridges of Indigenization in Japan, Korea, and China'. These publications delve into the influence of local traditions and cultures on mosque architecture in Southeast Asia and the rapid development of Islamic architecture in the region.

The featured books will also explore the history of Islam in Southeast Asia, Islamic practices and law in Indonesia, and efforts to present a balanced and inclusive image of Islam in China through literature and media. They further highlight the increasing role of women in these societies, many of whom have embraced Islam through education, marriage, migration, or other means.

Furthermore, TWMCC will present works such as 'Matriarchal Islam: Muslim Women's Leadership in Africa' and 'Localisation of State & Society for Muslims in Southeast Asia', which examine how matriarchal practices adapt to Islamic norms, using examples from northern Mozambique and northern Ghana. These books also explore the interactions between Muslim communities and the broader society and how states and social conditions facilitate the integration of Muslims in Southeast Asia.
