The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) participated at the 35th International conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, held on 25-26 August in Egypt, under the patronage of Egypt's President HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, under the theme "The Role of Women in Building Awareness."
This conference was notable for being the first focused on female preachers, drawing participation from around 60 countries and over 100 prominent figures, including ministers, muftis, and representatives from various Islamic organisations and councils globally. The event saw a significant international presence of scholars.
HE Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of TWMCC, attended the opening ceremony, presided over by Dr. Usama Al-Sayyid Al-Azhari, Egypt's Minister of Endowments.
The conference aligns with the Ministry of Endowments' efforts to raise community awareness about the critical role women play in cultural, religious, and social spheres.
Discussions at the conference focused on six key themes: women's roles in fostering religious awareness, women's roles in fostering cultural awareness, women's roles in serving society, women's roles in building families and raising children, the Egyptian experience in women's empowerment, and promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, and peacebuilding.
TWMCC is an international non-governmental organisation that functions as a think tank. It supports Muslim community organisations and associations by helping them improve their operations, collaborate effectively, and adopt innovative approaches.
