The Council's Delegation Visits Federation of Islamic Institutions in Brazil

 A delegation from The World Muslim Communities Council, headed by the Secretary-General, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Bechari, Sheikh Hassan Musa, member of the Council’s secretariat, and Vice-President of the Council, Al-Suwaidi, visited the headquarters of the Federation of Islamic Institutions in Brazil on Monday, April 18, 2022.


 They were welcomed by Dr. Mohamed Al-Zoghbi, President of the Federation, accompanied by members of its board of directors, led by: Dr. Ali Al-Zoghbi, Mr. Bassim Al-Zoghbi, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Othmani, and Mr. Nizar Al-Ghandour.


 The two parties reviewed the history of the Federation and its activities, and the UAE's support for the union in charitable activities.


 The two parties also agreed to continue joint work for achieving intellectual security for the Muslims of Brazil and the entire Latin American and Caribbean countries, preserve their identity, affirm their role in building the national state and support the concepts of good citizenship.


 The parties also discussed future joint programs in raising Muslims' civilizational awareness, interest in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, supporting the role of women and youth and enabling them to have opportunities for the success of joint projects.


 At the conclusion of the meeting, the members of the Federation valued the role played by the United Arab Emirates in correcting misconceptions about Islam and helping to strengthen the Islamic presence among Muslim communities.


 The delegation of the Council is scheduled to continue its meetings with Islamic leaders in Brazil to get acquainted with their activities and search for ways of joint cooperation.


 The Federation of Islamic Institutions in Brazil was established on December 19, 1979 by Hajj Hussein Mohamed Al-Zoghbi, under the patronage and supervision of the embassies of Arab and Islamic countries in Brazil, and with the blessing of the Muslim World League and the Ministries of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in more than one Islamic country, with the support of Muslim associations in the country, with the aim of strengthening and unifying Islamic institutions in Brazil.
