Dr. Sabrina Lei: Qur’an Cannot be Translated, but Rather Interpreted

The World Muslim Communities Council organized a virtual lecture on Tuesday, April 05, 2022, a lecture among "Achievers and Contributors" series, in which Dr. Sabrina Lei, Director of the Tawasul International Center for Publishing, Research and Dialogue in Rome, spoke via the social media pages of the Council.
Dr. Lee, director of the Tawasul International Center for Publishing, Research and Dialogue in Rome, said that she seeks to develop the Islamic community in Italy and Europe, noting that she was interested in the Islam even before converted to it.
She added that the Muslim community in Italy and Europe has grown significantly during the recent period due to the second and third generation of Muslims in Europe, in addition to the presence of a large number of translated books on Islam and the lives of Muslims.
The Director of the Tawasul International Center for Publishing, Research and Dialogue in Rome explained that Europe needs non-ideological books to fill the void in the cultural arena, which prompted her to publish her first books on the biography of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Lei assured that Islam came to complement what the Judaism and Christianity brought, which she always seeks to convey to Italian and European society.
The Director of the Tawasul International Center for Publishing, Research and Dialogue in Rome indicated that she wrote a 40-page introduction when she translated Sahih Al-Bukhari into Italian to make it easier for Italians to understand.
She stressed that the Noble Qur’an cannot be translated, but rather its meanings can be interpreted, stressing that there were not many translated Islamic books before, and that most of them offend Islamic civilization, which made her work to correct that bad image.
It is noteworthy that The World Muslim Communities Council is an international non-governmental organization, headquartered in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. It is considered a think tank to rationalize organizations and societies working in Muslim societies, renew their thinking and improve their performance in order to achieve one goal; The integration of Muslim societies in their countries, in a way that their members realize the perfection of citizenship and complete affiliation with the Islamic religion. The council seeks, through holding dozens of virtual conferences, seminars and activities, to localize the concepts of religious, ethnic and cultural pluralism, in a manner that preserves human dignity and respect for his beliefs, and establishes the values of moderation, dialogue, tolerance and belonging to the homelands.
