
TWMCC Delegation Visits China’s Xinjiang Province

A high-level delegation from The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC), headed by Chairman HE Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, has arrived in Xinjiang Province in China, commencing an official visit aimed at strengthening dialogue and expanding cooperation with religious, academic, and research institutions in the region.
The delegation includes a number of distinguished scholars, along with heads and representatives of Islamic and academic institutions dedicated to dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence, from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Mali, Nigeria, and Serbia.
The visit seeks to reinforce bridges of communication and dialogue with the Chinese side in various fields and to explore prospects for joint cooperation in scientific, cultural, and religious domains.
During the visit, HE Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi met with HE Erkin Tuniyaz, Chairman of the Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, where they discussed several issues of mutual interest that would foster cooperation and support efforts to consolidate the values of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual understanding.
The visit also includes participation in the Third International Symposium on Combating Extremism, hosted by the city of Ürümqi in Xinjiang Province, with the participation of policymakers and representatives of research centres from more than 25 countries, with the aim of exchanging expertise and bolstering international efforts to counter extremist ideologies.
This visit comes within the framework of the TWMCC’s efforts to extend bridges of dialogue and communication among Muslim communities worldwide, promoting the values of moderation and peaceful coexistence, thereby contributing to social harmony and sustainable development across the globe.
