The World Muslim Communities Council (TWMCC) is participating in the Second International Symposium of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, taking place in Cairo on 15–16 December 2025 under the theme"Fatwa and Contemporary Human Issues: Towards Sound Ijtihad Addressing Contemporary Challenges", under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Through its participation, TWMCC reaffirms its commitment to advancing responsible institutional ijtihad and strengthening collaboration among religious and intellectual bodies to address today’s humanitarian issues. The engagement also seeks to promote a balanced religious discourse that aligns the enduring principles of Islamic law with the realities of modern life, contributing to social harmony and the protection of human dignity.

The conference will witness the launch of several international initiatives, including the Fatwa and Human Dignity Charter, Fatwa Standards for Sustainable Development, and Fatwa for Humanity Platform. These initiatives underscore a broader shift toward positioning fatwa work as a driver of societal impact, grounded in research, evaluation, and measurable outcomes.

TWMCC’s participation reflects its broader mission to encourage the constructive integration of Muslim communities within their societies, reinforce the values of citizenship, coexistence, and tolerance, and promote a religious discourse that counters extremism and strengthens social cohesion.
